All Patron Gods give production bonuses from 10% to 100% depending on the island’s devotion. Each devotion level gives an extra 10% and an additional maximum shrine limit. As for unique bonuses, there are only five levels instead of ten, but you also get an extra maximum shrine limit for each, adding up to 15 shrines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best Religions in Anno 117 Pax Romana<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ceres is one of the starter Patron Gods, which is available immediately without needing any discoveries or research. She provides production bonuses on several needs in the Latium household, as well as gives additional population for each residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The production bonuses are decent, but the increased population matters a lot for a starter island. I cannot stress enough the importance of a massive population and workforce<\/a>. Having a decent population and Workforce numbers gives you the freedom to expand your army, improve your economy<\/a>, and save a lot of space on the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ceres will easily be one of the most revered Patron Gods, even for multiple islands in the same province. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neptune prides himself as the Lord of the Waves, giving any island that worships this Patron God a fixed strategy. While the resources you mostly get from the sea are a nice bonus, you are most likely looking to capitalize on the unique bonus to have more durable ships and reduced money upkeep for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every playthrough needs an island under Neptune. Since ships play a huge role in the game, reducing the money upkeep alone is a massive benefit because you can literally have them all created in one island for the bonus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you try building up a massive naval fleet on any island, you’ll notice three main problems: the massive maintenance costs, the lack of workforce, and the production capacity. Being under Neptune helps mitigate the maintenance cost, which is a massive bonus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Empires use several ships for their trading routes, but you need even more to attack or defend. Since there’s land combat, you’ll still need to get your land units inside ships to take over an island through military dominance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You’ll want an island that worships Neptune and takes advantage of building the entire naval fleet exclusively on this island to lessen costs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like Neptune, Mars also focuses on troops, but particularly land troops. Mars gives a unique bonus that improves the Morale of troops, reduces the Workforce needed to train them, and decreases maintenance costs as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These bonuses are massive, as the reduced Workforce to train troops tremendously helps expand your army. However, the best strategy is still to make the land army on one island, similar to how you would use Neptune.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building your army up uses a lot of Workforce, but at least you don’t have to upgrade a lot of residences to tier 2 and completely avoid tier 3 to sustain an island that keeps pumping land units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from the unique bonus, you’ll also have increased production on Weapons, Iron, Iron Ore, and Armour, making your troop-producing island way more efficient. You can even add some Charcoal Kilns to make the island a hub for distributing Charcoal to your other islands, since Mars provides a bonus to it as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charcoal is also big since it takes a lot of space, especially in your main production islands, so it is nice to have them all in one island. You’ll just have to work on improving the health of that particular island if you do this strategy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the other Patron Gods, they should all be decent if you put in the right strategy. Cernunnos could have some use in the Albion province, as well as Minerva. Mercury-Lugus is also great for maximizing Prestige in the endgame when you have complete dominance already. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All Patron Gods and Their Bonuses in Anno 117 Pax Romana Before getting to the best religions, here's a complete list of all the Patron Gods and their following bonuses. God Production Bonuses Unique Bonus Ceres Bread, Flour, Wheat Porridge and Oats Wine, Grapes, and Honeycombs Beer, Malt, and Barley Olive Oil and Olives All residences provide additional population. Neptune Sardines Garum, Mackerel, and Salt Oysters with Caviar, Oysters, Caviar, and Sturgeon Cockles Seashells Newly-constructed ships are more durable and have reduced upkeep. Mars Weapons, Iron, and Iron Ore Sandals, Leather, Pigs, and Salt Armour, Iron, Iron Ore, Leather, Pigs, and Salt Charcoal Troops recruited on this island have higher Morale and reduced Workforce and upkeep. Best Religions in Anno 117 Pax Romana Ceres Ceres is one of the starter Patron Gods, which is available immediately without needing any discoveries or research. She provides production bonuses on several needs in the Latium household, as well as gives additional population for each residence. The production bonuses are decent, but the increased population matters a lot for a starter island. I cannot stress enough the importance of a massive population and workforce. Having a decent population and Workforce numbers gives you the freedom to expand your army, improve your economy, and save a lot of space on the island. Ceres will easily be one of the most revered Patron Gods, even for multiple islands in the same province. Neptune Neptune prides himself as the Lord of the Waves, giving any island that worships this Patron God a fixed strategy. While the resources you mostly get from the sea are a nice bonus, you are most likely looking to capitalize on the unique bonus to have more durable ships and reduced money upkeep for them. Every playthrough needs an island under Neptune. Since ships play a huge role in the game, reducing the money upkeep alone is a massive benefit because you can literally have them all created in one island for the bonus. If you try building up a massive naval fleet on any island, you'll notice three main problems: the massive maintenance costs, the lack of workforce, and the production capacity. Being under Neptune helps mitigate the maintenance cost, which is a massive bonus. Empires use several ships for their trading routes, but you need even more to attack or defend. Since there's land combat, you'll still need to get your land units inside ships to take over an island through military dominance. You'll want an island that worships Neptune and takes advantage of building the entire naval fleet exclusively on this island to lessen costs. Mars Like Neptune, Mars also focuses on troops, but particularly land troops. Mars gives a unique bonus that improves the Morale of troops, reduces the Workforce needed to train them, and decreases maintenance costs as well. These bonuses are massive, as the reduced Workforce to train troops tremendously helps expand your army. However, the best strategy is still to make the land army on one island, similar to how you would use Neptune. Building your army up uses a lot of Workforce, but at least you don't have to upgrade a lot of residences to tier 2 and completely avoid tier 3 to sustain an island that keeps pumping land units. Apart from the unique bonus, you'll also have increased production on Weapons, Iron, Iron Ore, and Armour, making your troop-producing island way more efficient. You can even add some Charcoal Kilns to make the island a hub for distributing Charcoal to your other islands, since Mars provides a bonus to it as well. Charcoal is also big since it takes a lot of space, especially in your main production islands, so it is nice to have them all in one island. You'll just have to work on improving the health of that particular island if you do this strategy. As for the other Patron Gods, they should all be decent if you put in the right strategy. Cernunnos could have some use in the Albion province, as well as Minerva. Mercury-Lugus is also great for maximizing Prestige in the endgame when you have complete dominance already.
