Pragmata’s release date was finally unveiled during The Game Awards 2025, and CAPCOM has dropped a demo on PC. After the disappointing performance in Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Monster Hunter: Wilds, I’m happy to report that RE Engine gets the chance to shine again in this incredibly optimized demo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pragmata Demo Performance Impressions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It took me around 25 minutes to finish the demo of Pragmata, and unlike their open-world releases, Pragmata is set in an enclosed environment, similar to Resident Evil, which means improved performance overall, but it’s also consistent. After a shader compilation step at launch, which took around 5-7 minutes on my AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D, I didn’t encounter a single stutter throughout my playthrough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I played Pragmata at 1440p with DLSS <\/strong>set to DLAA <\/strong>on an RTX 4070 Super. I put every available graphical setting to the max value and enabled Ray Tracing, just to see how well my system holds up in CAPCOM’s latest RE Engine release. With these settings, I averaged around 90 FPS<\/strong> throughout the demo<\/strong>, again, with no stutters at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dropping the DLSS preset down to the Quality pushed my average to around 120 FPS, and the game still looked really sharp. Though, considering how well it ran with DLAA, I might as well stick with it for the higher image quality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What really surprised me is that this performance is achieved with ray-tracing enabled. Granted, there isn’t a whole lot going on in terms of scale, but the final encounter in the demo had plenty of large effects, and performance was steady despite minor drops here and there. Also, you can disable ray-tracing if you want, so players with lower-end GPUs will benefit from the extra performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can disable chromatic aberration, depth of field, lens flare, and bloom directly from the in-game settings so you can enjoy a clean and sharp experience without editing any configuration files. Finally, Frame Generation is supported as well, which should help users push the framerate even higher if they have a high refresh rate display for that extra motion clarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
